Book Two — Jacob

Here we begin the unnecessarily long chapter titles that are a blatant attempt to make Jacob’s narration “different” from Bella’s.

We realize the abrupt shift in story and point of view for the next 11 chapters is supposed to leave us hanging on the Bella/Edward dealio. But, honestly, we could care less.

This “book” not only gets its own table of contents, but also its own Shakespeare quote, and its own preface. The preface reads:

“Life sucks, and then you die. Yeah, I should be so lucky.” (143)

What a fantastic use of a page.
