Something funny.

No, no more updates yet. Sorry, we’ve been busy! But the other day, Spider Monkey stumbled upon an interesting story about how the producers of the Oscars are trying to update the show and draw in a younger audience. This includes inviting random people to present (for example, KStew and TLaut are set to be there, and we know they’re certainly not up for any awards).

But we found this part really amusing:

The producers said they feel a certain momentum surrounding the movie industry this year and are keen to make the show as widely appealing as possible. This means doing things like bringing in teen sensations Miley Cyrus, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner to present. (The pair even wanted ” Harry Potter” author J.K. Rowling and “Twilight” scribe Stephenie Meyer to present the adapted screenplay category, but Rowling was unavailable because of scheduling conflicts and Meyer, who is a Mormon, does not work on Sundays.)

Yes, you read that correctly — SMeyer turned down the OSCARS because they’re on a Sunday. Seriously? Is she not aware of all the sweet swag Oscars presenters and nominees get? Shit, woman, you are dumb!

We understand religion is important to a lot of people. But would putting on a fancy dress, walking a red carpet, and getting to meet a load of famous people really constitute as “work”? Somehow we don’t think so.

Also, what exactly does SMeyer consider her profession to be? If she’s a “writer,” does that mean if a brilliant idea comes to her on a Sunday afternoon she can’t write it down? And, before she became a “writer,” wasn’t she just a mom? (Oh, excuse us… a homemaker?) So, does that mean she won’t make her kids breakfast on Sundays? Bitch.

Perhaps she’s just afraid that the famous people who make real movies based on real books would mock her. We know we would.
